Dental implant - No more a big ticket @THE DENTAL SPECIALISTS, INDIA
Dental implants had become the most trusted and life time solution to replace a missing tooth, both from patient and the dentist perspective. Dental implant carries many proven evidences of its exceptionally successful journey till date thereby increasing the scope for the patient to choose dental implant despite of its expensive nature compared to traditional crowns and bridges. Also many advances have revolutionalised implant dentistry overcoming the major drawback of traditional implantation technique where one have to wait for atleast 3- 6 months to get his/her missing teeth to be fixed. THE DENTAL SPECIALISTS,INDIA also took a bold step to give life time warranty on dental implant with added advantage of immediate loading i.e. permanent crown is fixed over the implant within 48 hours which is possible with TTPHIL ALL TILT technique. TTPHIL ALL TILT implantation technique was introduced by Dr. Venkat Ratna Nag, a leading implantologist and the director @ THE DENTAL SPECIALISTS,INDIA. Our topic of concern in this blog is on the basic cost of dental implants and various factors affecting the cost of dental implants in India.
Factors affecting dental implant cost in INDIA :
Dental implants are quite expensive when compared to routine teeth replacement methods like removable dentures and crowns and bridges. Though it is expensive it is considered to be the superior as it provides much ease and comfort to patient compared to traditional methods. Lets discuss on those factors which are making the dental implant -an expensive treatment right from consultation to fixing of crown on dental implant.
Consultation and Discussion:
The consultation fee is the fundamental charge which one have to pay for the time given by dentist to diagnose the current discomfort and advise a proper treatment to overcome it. this may vary from 200 to 800 INR based on the experience of the dentist who is attending. here @TDS we are offering any specialist consultation only @200 INR
Radiographs, Scans and Blood investigations if any:
The dentist will advise a two dimensional x-ray compulsorily if a dental implantation procedure is to be done. Sometimes an OPG i.e. full mouth x-ray or a CT scan will also be advised to assess the bone volume. Also blood investigations like clotting time, bleeding time and blood sugar investigations will be advised if necessary. This will be an additional added cost in implant procedures.
Dental implantation procedure:
This is the actual point of concern, where many crucial factors elevate the expense of dental implant.
The type of dental implant:
The implant basically consists of a titanium post, abutment and a crown. Two piece : titanium post and abutment are separate entities. Single piece: titanium post and abutment come as single entity
We @ THE DENTAL SPECIALISTS,INDIA use two piece cortical implants in order to get anchorage from cortical bone which is highly resistant to wear and tear. Two piece implant systems provide us with a wide range of angulated abutments in order to fabricate a screw retained crown. Screw retained crown will have a inbuilt access hole which will give easy accessibility to retrieve crown easily in future if required. But with single piece implants we can only fabricate a cement retained crown. If crown have to be retrieved in future we should only cut through the crown and replace it with new crown again.
Method of implantation technique:
1. Conventional Implant and delayed loading using two piece crestal implants 2. TTPHIL ALLTILT technique and immediate loading using two piece cortical implants

Other Specializations if any required ?
If any teeth removal is required, additional charges will be included. Teeth removal can be done simple way if teeth is loose or gross amount of tooth structure is intact. If the tooth is broken till gum level, if it is totally under the gum and any abnormal curvatures in the root are evident, then a surgical tooth extraction should be performed which will cost more.
Also if sufficient bone volume is lacking, rarely artificial bone grafts will be required which is again a surgical procedure. The bone graft will take 3 months to one year in order to get integrated into jaw bone.
Experience of the dentist:
The experience of the implantologist who is performing the procedure also plays a key role. Any experienced professional will charge high as he is giving his valuable time. That should not be a big deal, after all we are getting dental implants done which needs to serve for life time. When we are dealing with our healthy vital tissues, it's always suggestible to rely on an experienced hand.
Location of dental clinic:
Yes!! location of dental clinic also matters. If we enquire regarding price in sub urban areas the price will be relatively low compared to a clinic located in the center of the city. Higher demand, higher price. This is the reason why medical and dental tourism in INDIA is flourishing now a days. We are here giving a table comparing the prices of dental implants in various countries
